Task 2

Reflective Summary of Future Learn:

This is the first time I had enrolled for an online course. I realized that I do not know much about Blended Learning.  I've taken courses in the past which encourages integrating technology into my curriculum, but it didn't explicitly teach what blended learning is and how to effectively bring it into my classroom.
When I first started this module, I was having difficulty navigating through the lessons and assignments.  The format is very different and more detailed from any other course I've taken and it took me a while to really understand how to go about the levels of Blended Learning. Other than that, I thought Module 1 was pretty easy and explained clearly about Blended Learning. These activities helped me to develop my understanding of the main principles of blended learning. One of the most important facts I learned from Module 1 is that a "blended classroom will engage students in an exciting learning environment filled with choice, opportunity, and an individualized education." Those words are very powerful and pretty much sums up the intent of incorporating a blended learning environment.  This is also a very powerful message, summing up how technology is definitely shifting gears in the education system.  I also got an opportunity to explore the different teaching online web tools.  Taking a step back to view things from a different perspective, through the eyes of a busy teacher, makes me think of creative ways I can plan my future lessons.
Week two was also very challenging and interesting. It was mainly about the principles of Blended Learning. I was exposed to how to blend pedagogy to technology. The opportunities I had in this week was sharing  ideas, opinions, and experiences which actually helped me understand the concept of blended learning in a new perspective.
Week three and week four were very interesting. It was about integrating the technology and various techniques in doing so. The videos and explanation given were simple and easy to be understood. The best part was the peer reflection that I had received and given to other students abroad. The review I got was very motivating and encouraging for me.
Finally, at the end of week 5, I realized there was a lot of information gained. I really enjoyed doing and trying out the Future Learn. It was an unforgettable experience. I scored 14/15 in the last test of Blended Learning.

All students no matter their age learn differently and teaching methods should reflect this, by designing teaching programmes in a way that reaches visual, auditory and kinetic learners alikeWith the heavy integration of technologies we’ll be able to improve teaching, information retention, engagement, responsibility and enjoyment. Students never outgrow their learning styles, meaning blended learning is more important than ever, no matter what the industry is, from schools to corporations, in all walks of life.
